Baptism

We had the girls baptized yesterday.

When we found out that I was having twins, one of my moms biggest concerns was what they would wear for baptism. We have an antique dress that is over 100 years old, that most of the family has worn including Connor and myself. Trying to be helpful, I asked if she would want to make one...and then suggested that she make it out of my shawl from my wedding dress! It had beautiful beading on both ends and I thought it would be perfect. She agreed, but had an awful time making the first cut, the rest is history!

They were beyond beautiful, the pictures don't do them justice!! It is a bit sad that they only wore them for such a short time. Especially after all the time my mom put into them.

Their bonnets are made out of a hankie. A few snips and it can be their something old on their wedding day. I had one that I got for my baptism and loved having it to carry
on my wedding day.
We are going to do more photos later this week, maybe ones where they aren't so washed out?!

3 Months

We are all still here. Busy working, playing, growing, and still adjusting to our new schedule. Just as we were in the swing of it, Ken started traveling again. There I was three kids under 3, 4 days and 3 nights by myself! We did it though, I will admit with some great help. The only 'me' time I get when Ken is gone is when I crash in bed at night.

Here are the 3 month pictures, of course a few days late...
Addy
(who would not look at the camera!)

Molly

(who blinked for 2 pictures!)

How different they already are ; ) No stat's yet, their 3 month appointment isn't until Thursday! Maybe I'll post them with pictures of them in clothes!!

Dooms Day

Tomorrow is the day I have been dreading. After 11 1/2 wonderful weeks of being home, I am returning to the work world. Ken has been off for 2 weeks for the holidays so we are really out of routine.
No more late nights. No more sleeping in until someone calls 'daddy, mommy'. No more jammies all day. No more being together all day.
Back to reality: The alarm clock. Crazy mornings. Short nights together. Rushing around, forgetting things. Showering daily.
Isn't reality great?
I'll make it. I love my kids, both sets. The ones at home and the ones at school. I know my kids are in good hands. Cathy is the best ; ) My school kids need me too. At church today, one of my school kids told me he couldn't wait for me to be back tomorrow. That makes me feel good.

Things will be good once I get to school, I just need to make it there ; ) aren't they cute!

Pray for a good day for all Rood's!!

Have a great week!

{belated} Merry Christmas!

I know I'm way late. I couldn't resist sharing our first Christmas as the Rood 5!!
There was so much excitement about Santa this year at our house. Until we went to see him. This is as close as he got. Didn't surprise me one bit.

We had a great Christmas! I love how when you have little kids, it becomes all about them, it gives Christmas a whole different feeling. It was a wonderful gift to watch Connor on Christmas morning!
He got both items from Santa that he had requested (as he was screaming!):
a red Cars bike and
a guitar.

Quite a picky 2 year old. Daddy also added a few items to his list. They both loved them as well!

The girls got dolls and blankies that they love so much. We have found them covering their faces with them a few times, so they are taken away after they fall asleep at night ; )

We can only imagine how fun Christmas at the Rood's will be next year!!
Merry Christmas (a little late!)
